Higher Education Goals and University Ranking: Random Variables?

University mission determination is involved in higher education outcomes. Although educational goals are a backbone construct for any institution, they seldom addressed, underestimated, and hardly considered calibration university ratings. The purpose of this exploratory study was to scrutinize universities’ strategic missions trace coincidences between them the university’s academic success materialized as QS rank. Relying on framework descriptive research author applied techniques coding, thematic analysis, comparison, interpretation. main findings show that top group representing liberal values more focused individual global pursuits than non-top universities considered. Educational locally marked have specifics their own. Hence, across globe may not necessarily coincide with Anglo-Saxon core underpin ranking system.
